A Fairfield man was arrested in a kidnapping and assault that occurred last week, Fairfield police said Thursday.

Just after 4:15 p.m. April 21, officers responded to the 1800 block of Walters Court for a report that a man had pulled a woman by her hair and pushed her into a vehicle, officials said. Officers obtained video footage of the apparent kidnapping and, by using the FLOCK camera system, located the suspect’s vehicle. The registered owner, Corktney Tyrese Love, 36, was on parole for kidnapping and sexual assault, officials said.

Love was found at an address in the 500 block of East Colorado Street, but the woman was not. Love reportedly advised that he didn’t know the woman “but claimed to have dropped her off a local fast-food restaurant,” police said.
