Apple's decision to prioritize sub-6GHz 5G support in the C1 is likely driven by cost considerations and the fact that most U.S. wireless users rarely encounter mmWave networks due to their limited range. While mmWave networks offer significantly faster speeds, they are not as widely deployed as sub-6GHz networks. The test environment in Toronto, with its dense network of cell towers, may have contributed to the C1's superior performance. Dave2D suggests that in areas with less robust 5G coverage, the Snapdragon X71 might demonstrate better results.
