The plane was carrying 90 passengers and was departing for Charlotte, according to a Monroe County spokesperson. No injuries were reported. The spokesperson said officials do not believe it was weather-related, and said the airfield was cleared of snow and ice. American Airlines said the plane was deiced prior to the attempted takeoff due to snow and freezing temperatures. Airport workers and firefighters responded to help passengers off of the plane and take them back to the terminal, according to the spokesperson. One of those passengers, Maria DiGiambattista of Pittsford, was trying to fly to Texas. She didn't notice anything was wrong until the pilot made an announcement. "They finally did come out, the fire department came, and they took care of us — helping hands and the whole 'shabang,'" she said. "They came to us in buses, which was fine. They did it quick," DiGiambattista continued.
