Canandaigua, N.Y. — Police have caught the final suspect wanted following a drug bust in the Finger Lakes region earlier this year.
Sharif Parker , 37, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at a home in the Charlotte, N.C. area and taken to the Cabarrus County Jail in Concord, N.C. on an indictment warrant out of Ontario County, N.Y. Canandaigua, N.Y. — Authorities have caught the final suspect wanted following a drug bust in the Finger Lakes region earlier this year.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office began an investigation in November 2022 into a drug trafficking organization allegedly led by Sharif "Reef" Parker. Authorities executed search warrants June 20, 2023 in Ontario, Monroe, Wayne, Seneca and Oneida counties. They uncovered a "significant quantity" of narcotics, evidence of drug manufacturing, five handguns, a rifle and roughly $30,000 in cash.
Police said Parker had been detained at his home in Wayne County while the search warrants were being executed, and he was indicted on several charges Dec. 12, but he fled the area sometime between the search and the indictment.Parker is being held in the Cabarrus County Jail in Concord, N.C. as he awaits extradition to New York, where he will answer to his charges in Ontario County Court.
The charges in Parker's felony indictment include criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, money laundering, conspiracy and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
