Sophie is being treated at a veterinary hospital after being attacked by a swarm of bees in her owners' back yard.A recent attack by a swarm of bees that was stirred up during removal of a hive has resulted in hospitalization of a Pasadena woman and left her chocolate lab being treated for injuries at a veterinary hospital.
Davis said she is upset that residents in the vicinity of the hive weren't notified that CenterPoint would have a beekeeper attempt to remove it.In a written statement, CenterPoint said,"Since we learned of this unfortunate incident, we have been in contact with the Davis family to understand how we could best support Sophie’s treatment and recovery.
"I opened the window and that's when I realized she was getting attacked by bees," Davis said."It took about five seconds for me to totally comprehend the situation because I never thought she would get attacked by bees. It never crossed my mind that this could happen."Davis was hesitant to open the back door because her infant son was near her. With the bees still attacking Sophie, Davis placed a robe over herself for protection and ran out the front door to a side gate.
