Hidden Lakes Campground in Morrow County has what looks like the roof partially off of their mess hall facility, but it kept around 100 people safe Thursday during strong winds. Haley Stanley is a neighbor to the campground, and she and others from trailers nearby were let into the facility by a security guard.
The security guard, Stanley's cousin, even laid on top of Stanley and her two-year-old daughter to prevent them from getting lifted by wind Stanley said sounded like "chainsaws or a freight train." Stanley said about 100 people plus kids and dogs were inside the facility with roof damage, which is not yet open for the season.She also detailed neighbors running amok in some flooded grass, crying early Friday.
