Married to the UK Defence Minister, she had been secretly passing on government secrets to the organisation for over a decade but, when her lover, Jason , is murdered and spy boss Reed calls in her old friend and professional assassin Sam to help keep Helen safe, the duo uncover a huge conspiracy linking London's criminal underworld to a looming geopolitical crisis.It's safe to say that the six-part series ended with a bang and left us with just as many questions as it answered. Netflix actually confirmed a second season had been greenlit before season one was even released, announcing the exciting news on X, formerly Twitter, back in August 2024. Black Doves season two: PlotNetflix’s official season two synopsis reads: “In season two, Helen is still betraying her nation’s secrets to the covert organisation she serves, the Black Doves. But after the misadventures of last Christmas, and with her husband, Wallace , preparing to become prime minister, she’s walking a more treacherous line than ever. “As Helen’s enigmatic handler, Mrs. Reed , is ensnared in a ruthless plot to undermine her position in the Black Doves, Helen is reunited with her best friend, Sam . The once high-end triggerman is now reduced to lonely drinks in Soho bars and low-rate hits. As they search for answers, loyalties are weaponised, trust is shattered, and the fight to protect the people they love could cost everything.” Meanwhile, creator Joe Barton added: “I couldn’t be more excited to delve back into the world of our murderous little spy family.
