The 5-2 vote comes after five district employees were placed on leave due to misconduct allegations over the past five months., a football coach and history teacher at Moore Middle School, was arrested after being accused of secretly taking photos of boys showering and undressing in the locker room. Elliott resigned from the district and surrendered his teaching license after being taken into custody, district officials said. In the weeks following Elliott’s initial arrest, two lawsuits against Celina ISD alleged that Elliott had a sexual relationship with a student while he was a teacher and coach at Celina High School during the 2022-23 school year. The suits alleged that district leaders transferred Elliott to Moore Middle School rather than reporting the abuse to authorities. One of the two lawsuits names Maglisceau as a defendant.Following Caleb Elliott's arrest, his father, longtime Celina High School football coach Bill Elliott, stepped down from his job. On March 20, the Texas Education Agency notified the district that it hadlast week that they wouldn’t open an investigation into the alleged misconduct because the statute of limitations had passed. District officials have placed three other educators on administrative leave since October. On October 30, Jainya Walder, an English teacher at Moore Middle School, was arrested after police said she showed up to work “impaired.” Days later, district officials notified families that they had placed Neil Phillips, a high school teacher and wrestling coach, on administrative leave and opened an investigation after a video emerged on social media alleging that Phillips had shown students how to use an AI chatbot in a “sexually inappropriate way.” In November, Micheale Clark, a special education teacher’s aide at Celina High School, was arrested after police said she showed up to work intoxicated.
