” At a special address during the Asia·Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO Summit at Gyeongju Arts Center, he stated, “This self-evident truth was also proven by the ‘K-democracy’ of the Republic of Korea, which last winter drove out the darkness of insurrection with multicolored cheering light sticks.” President Lee said, “I believe you will make 2025 APEC, a cooperative stage connecting four continents and 21 economies, into a stage for everyone to leap into the future,” and, “I hope that the history of the Republic of Korea, which achieved industrialization amid the rubble of war and safeguarded democracy at every bend of history, and the Republic of Korea of today, can offer you inspiration and courage to navigate crises.” He said, “‘Connection’ is the power of solidarity that bridges an age of disconnection,” and, “As a globally responsible nation, the Republic of Korea will make a significant contribution to restoring the links of trust and cooperation in the region.” He said, “In particular, supply chain cooperation is the key,” and, “The Republic of Korea, as the first within APEC, has convened a public-private joint forum with the sustainability of supply chains as its theme, opening the way for the private sector to participate actively in supply chain discussions.” President Lee also said, “The core of innovation that will drive sustainable development today is artificial intelligence ,” and, “Like Cheomseongdae, which read the movements of the stars based on data, artificial intelligence, likewise grounded in data, will become an engine of intellect that offers humanity new insights and direction.” He stated, “The Republic of Korea will propose an ‘Artificial Intelligence Initiative’ at this summit,” and, “I hope that the vision of AI for all can take root as the new normal of APEC.”
