Police don't buy man's story of his friend showing up bloody with stab wound in chest, charge him with murderIsrael Cortez, 23. SAN ANTONIO - A man calls police to say his friend showed up at his doorstep beaten up and bloody, with a stab wound to his chest.

The murder took place around 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14 at a home off Southcross Ranch Road near Loop 410 on the Far Southeast Side. Police said they found two knives in the kitchen of Israel Cortez, 23, and one had blood on it. Later that afternoon, police got a call from his mom who says her son confessed to her that he killed his friend, 23-year-old Robert Neaves. Another friend called police the next day and said Cortez confessed to them as well. According to the arrest report, video surveillance showed Cortez picking up Neaves several hours earlier, also contradicting his claim he hadn't seen his friend before the murder.
