Three firemen in Texas have been arrested on child sex crime charges after they allegedly ‘victimized’ a 16-year-old girl when she was a junior firefighter
Three firemen in Texas have been arrested on child sex crime charges after they allegedly “victimized” a 16-year-old girl. The Howe Police Department asked the Texas Department of Public Safety to investigate allegations of inappropriate conduct that involved members of the Howe Volunteer Fire Department, according to KXII.
Following the investigation, David Perez-Glass and Dalton McCaslin were both arrested on three counts of sexual assault of a child. Meanwhile, Joshua Ryals was arrested on two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.Perez-Glass most recently worked for the Irving Fire Department, as well as volunteered with the Howe Volunteer Fire Department. McCaslin was employed by the Allen Fire Department, while Ryals most recently worked for the Melissa Fire Department. The victim came forward with the allegations in May 2025 and said the instances first began when she was a junior firefighter in 2022 with the Howe Volunteer Fire Department, according to redacted documents obtained by WFAA. Howe Director of Public Safety Jake Sullivan issued a statement about the claims, saying that 'there was immediate attention and response' once the girl came forward. Sullivan added that the Howe Police Department asked the Texas Rangers to take over the investigation. 'We are committed to keeping our community informed as appropriate while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines,' Sullivan wrote in the statement, per WFAA. The girl claimed that Perez-Glass assaulted her more than two dozen times between January 2022 and January 2023, which was when she was underage. She claimed that he sexually assaulted her while they were alone at the fire station and in a storage facility in Van Alstyne, per the arrest documents. She also claimed that “Perez-Glass would use force to coerce her' into sex acts and that she 'consented to the sexual activity due to fear,” according to the documents. The girl told investigators that Perez-Glass thought she might be pregnant and 'told her she may need to use a coat hanger to stop the pregnancy.' She also recalled another encounter in which she said she 'was continuously asking Perez-Glass to stop' during a sexual act. Additionally, she told investigators that Perez-Glass told her that 'he would kill her if she ever told anyone' about the sexual assaults. Perez-Glass 'admitted to having a consensual sexual relationship' with the girl, according to investigators. Authorities also said that he 'admitted to knowing that she was younger than 17 years of age at the time.' Following Perez-Glass’ arrest, his attorney told WFAA, “I look forward to working with the investigators in this case to clear my client’s name. There is, of course, much more to this story and we would ask that the public withhold judgement until all the facts are known.” The girl also said she had sex with McCaslin in his apartment when she was 16. She claimed that the incident happened after she reached out to members of the fire department when she 'wanted to get away from her family,” according to arrest affidavits. Additionally, she claimed she participated in sexual acts with Ryals while she was a junior firefighter with the department, per the arrest affidavits. The girl claimed Ryals 'grabbed her sexually, kissed her and asked her to 'feel him' 'down there,'' according to the affidavits. The document also stated Ryals told her, 'You're sixteen, what am I doing?' Perez-Glass is still in police custody, while McCaslin and Ryals have both been released on bond. It is not currently clear if any of them entered pleas. The Howe Volunteer Fire Department told Us Weekly that the investigation remains ongoing and there are no further updates to share as of time of publication.
