Ford celebrates 30 years of the Expedition with a special edition featuring Mustang-sourced Blue Ember paint and unique styling touches.
As the 1990s wore on, the SUV market started shifting rapidly away from harder-edged, utilitarian models to more family-friendly people movers, and Ford started shifting with it, replacing the two-door Bronco with the bigger, four-door.
Designed to compete with the crosstown rival Chevrolet Tahoe, the F-150-based 1997 Ford Expedition was a vehicle that helped accelerate Ford’s transformation away from cars to SUVs.with a special edition model, and it starts with a super cool paint job that until now had only been available for the venerableYep, the 2027 Ford Expedition 30th Anniversary edition is sprayed in the same Blue Ember metallic tri-coat that was originally exclusive to Ford’s high-performance pony, but the Blue Oval decided the hue was worth borrowing for the Expedition’s 30th. We have to say, it looks good on a large body vehicle, and we hope Ford will release the color to other models soon.In order to order the appearance package, first you have to opt for a 2027 Expedition Platinum. The awesome blue is then augmented with blacked-out contrast trim and a set of 22-inch high-gloss ebony wheels, a combination that lends the Expedition a premium look for its celebratory package. Finally, the Expedition 30th Anniversary edition gets “30 Years” badging on its wheel center caps and lower tailgate.Inside, the 30th Anniversary package is fitted with the Expedition’s salt gray interior with the Platinum trim’s accents. This lighter colorway helps offset it from the darker exterior. As with the outside, “30 Years” badging will be present on the door sills and the logo will be embossed into the leather of the sliding center console. The total cost of the 2027 Ford Expedition 30th Anniversary appearance package will be announced later in 2026.
