The new Halloween video game recently set a Guinness World Record ahead of the game's release later this year.
During this weekend’s PAX East convention, IllFonic’s upcoming game had a massive presence. Alongside showing off more of the game and allowing players the chance to jump in and play, the studio also took over the show by breaking a record.
The giant gathering saw people of all shapes and sizes dressed in Myers’ iconic jumpsuit, posing menacingly for the world record photo.Halloween will release on September 8, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. In the game, players can take on the role of Myers as he stalks his way through Haddonfield, or play as one of the Haddonfield locals and try and disrupt his plans. IllFonic describes the game as a “1 vs. many experience” that will feature “masterfully recreated locations and ambiance from Halloween.” “Stick to the shadows as Civilians, seeking out Haddonfield residents to warn them and searching for a way to contact the authorities,” reads the game’s official description. “As Michael Myers, give them a reason to 2fear the dark and cut the phone lines to prevent the police from ruining his favorite holiday.
