Officials said the deputy found the wrecked vehicle engulfed in flames after the vehicle ran a red light and accelerated into a wooded area.
Sunday, March 29, 2026 4:14PMInvestigators said two people were killed in a fiery crash that followed a deputy pursuit in northwest Harris County on Saturday. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a deputy saw a vehicle traveling westbound on Spring Cypress Road run a red light at Louetta Road at about 10 p.
m. on Saturday. The patrolman turned on his emergency lights and siren to begin a traffic stop when the vehicle turned around, turned off its lights, and accelerated out of sight into the woods nearby, officials said. The deputy was searching for the vehicle in the area when he discovered a fire in the woods, authorities said. When the deputy arrived, he found the vehicle engulfed in flames, with one person ejected from the vehicle and another person still seated inside, according to investigators. Officials said the crash happened in the 14900 block of Telge Road. Officials said that fire department crews responded to the scene and put out the blaze. Upon putting out the fire, investigators said they determined that the two people involved in the crash were dead. With the investigation underway, HCSO said that speed is a factor in determining what led to the crash. The relationship between the two people is currently unknown.
