The 19 First Alert Weather Team has issued a 19 First Alert Weather Day for Wednesday afternoon, evening, and very early Thursday morning. The team issues Alert Days when they feel the weather will have significant impacts on your plans, your commute, or just maybe your life in general. This will bring us a scattered wintry mix on Wednesday afternoon. Since this will be a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, the evening commute may be slick in spots.

The exception to this is in the Sandusky area where the wintry mix may persist through most of the night, creating slick and hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service has just issued a Winter Weather Advisory west of Lorain County from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until 7:00 a.m. Thursday. By early Thursday morning, all of the precipitation will change back to a wintry mix, if not all snow. However, a little lake effect snow may drift across the area Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening
