A Pritzker Prize-winning architect designed the boutique, now the French fashion house’s largest in China.
‘The defining theme of 2026 is connection – between people, systems and senses’: The Future Laboratory Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc conceived the design for what is now the French fashion house’s largest boutique in China.
Image credit: Dior Brand leaders, including CEO Delphine Arnault and creative director Jonathan Anderson, gathered to cut the ribbon on the House of Dior in the heart of Beijing’s Sanlitun district on Dec. 11. The five-level landmark, now the brand’s largest location in China, houses ready-to-wear, a bespoke art collection and the first Monsieur Dior restaurant in the country, helmed by a Michelin-starred chef.House of Dior Beijing’s exterior features a distinct, flower-petal-like facade, created by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, who previously worked with the brand on the construction of its Seoul and Geneva locations. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a selection of women’s handbags and footwear. A central grand staircase connects the floors. The second is dedicated to feminine ready-to-wear and fragrances, and the upper levels feature the brand’s men’s collections, jewelry and VIP lounges. French chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the most Michelin-starred female culinarian in the world, is charged with creating the menu. The fine dining establishment, upon its public debut early next year, will feature dishes inspired by the maison’s namesake founder, but merged with aspects of Chinese culture and utilizing locally-sourced ingredients. Several prominent Chinese performers, including Zhang Ziyi, Zheng Qinwen, Liu Yuxin, Deng Wei and Zhou Ye, attended last week’s opening ceremony.
