A 250-acre Colorado ranch with deep ties to the Denver Broncos mascot Thunder hits the market. Triple Creek Ranch, near Silverthorne, features two luxury lodges, a premier equestrian complex including a heated arena, and trout ponds. It was home to Thunder 3 and is currently a high-end vacation rental.
Colorado sports fans now have the opportunity to own a significant piece of Broncos history, as a prestigious Blue River Valley equestrian estate with deep ties to the team's beloved mascot, Thunder, has been listed for sale.
The property, known as Triple Creek Ranch, is a sprawling more than 250-acre estate near Silverthorne, Colorado, owned by philanthropic power couple Sharon Magness Blake and Ernie Blake, and is on the market for $24.5 million. This sale is particularly notable because the ranch served as a home for several of the Denver Broncos' famous white stallions.
According to Cody Lujan, a partner with Colorado-based real estate firm Hall and Hall, which is listing the property, Thunder 1 and 2 both spent time on the ranch, but Thunder 3 lived there for five years and was generally the horse that spent the most time at Triple Creek Ranch. The property thus represents a direct, tangible connection to the iconic mascot that has thrilled NFL fans for decades.
Triple Creek Ranch is an exceptional luxury estate, offering two fully appointed lodges, extensive equestrian facilities, and pristine natural scenery. The property is named for the three tributary creeks that converge on the land to form the headwaters of Rock Creek. The main lodges, named Thunder and Elk, are situated within walking distance of each other.
Thunder Lodge spans 7,248 square feet and Elk Lodge measures 6,278 square feet; each features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, chef-equipped kitchens, wood-burning fireplaces, and modern mountain-inspired interiors. Both structures were meticulously built from refurbished logs reclaimed from old cabins in eastern Colorado and have recently undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation. The lodges overlook three stocked trout ponds, open meadows, and stunning surrounding mountain vistas, providing frequent wildlife sightings and a serene, private setting.
The ranch is exceptionally well-equipped for both high-end recreational use and large-scale corporate or family gatherings. It is currently operated as a luxury vacation rental through Cuvée. Key amenities include a massive 12,800-square-foot enclosed and heated riding arena, a 10-stall horse barn with automatic drinkers, and miles of riding trails that wind throughout the property. Thunder Lodge even includes two private horse stalls with turnouts and automatic drinkers, a direct nod to its history with the Broncos' Thunder.
Additional infrastructure features a three-bedroom, two-bath ranch manager residence, a 10-bay equipment garage, a barn, a children's play cabin, and several other outbuildings. A large sprinkler irrigation system serves key areas, and approximately 13 acres of hay meadow are irrigated via flood irrigation.
The 250-acre estate is located just a five-minute drive north of Silverthorne and the I-70 corridor, about 90 minutes from downtown Denver, and provides easy access to four major ski resorts: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, and Keystone. This combination of luxury, equestrian excellence, and Broncos history makes Triple Creek Ranch a uniquely significant property for a buyer seeking a statement mountain estate with a legendary Colorado sports connection
