Hernandez was last seen in a wooded area near Woodford Avenue and West 9th Street, prompting the lockdown of nearby Luverne School and Crenshaw Christian Academy. Police also urged those who live in the area to remain indoors until further notice during the manhunt. Around 10 p.m., the county sheriff’s office released a statement praising the Luverne Police Department, saying it was “truly blessed to work alongside such a dedicated and professional group of officers.” The sheriff’s office also credited the Covington County Sheriff’s K9 Tracking Team for helping with the search. being taken into custody by law enforcement.
