Shannon Hartfield, 26, was found guilty of 17 federal felonies for managing a crew that conducted armed robberies across the Puget Sound region, targeting marijuana dispensaries and financial institutions between late 2021 and mid-2022.

A 26-year-old man from Kent, Washington, Shannon Hartfield, was convicted on 17 federal felony charges for leading an armed robbery crew that targeted marijuana dispensaries, banks, and credit unions across the Puget Sound region.

The crimes occurred between December 2021 and June 2022. Hartfield recruited, often through social media and text messages, younger individuals including juveniles as young as 14 to carry out the robberies. He assumed a managerial role, selecting targets, supplying firearms, and providing getaway vehicles.

The crew robbed multiple dispensaries such as Kushman's and Have a Heart in Snohomish County on February 17, 2022, Lucid Cannabis in Auburn and West Seattle Dispensary on March 11, 2022, and Forbidden Cannabis in Lacey on April 18, 2022. After some arrests, Hartfield shifted focus to financial institutions, attempting to rob a Chase Bank on June 7, 2022 before successfully robbing a Salal Credit Union the same day.

The final robbery occurred on June 17, 2022, at a Chase Bank branch in Kent, leading to the crew's arrest. Hartfield has remained in custody since. Prosecutors described Hartfield as viewing robbery as a team sport, recruiting players and directing operations. The jury deliberated for three days after a week-long trial.

He was convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery, multiple counts of robbery and bank robbery, armed bank robbery, attempted armed bank robbery, and firearm use in a violent crime. The jury could not reach verdicts on three robbery counts and three firearm counts. Sentencing is scheduled for August 25. Each robbery count carries up to 20 years, armed bank robbery up to 25 years, and firearm use mandates a consecutive minimum of seven years. With mandatory minimums, Hartfield faces at least 45 years in prison
