Tara Colleen Ryan launched a GoFundMe after her $10,000 wheelchair was taken from the parking lot of Blink-182's San Antonio concert.

A wheelchair stolen from Blink-182 's San Antonio concert last week has been returned to its owner after turning up at a fire station. Houston resident Tara Colleen Ryan ’s custom wheelchair was stolen from the parking lot of Frost Bank Center following the band’s June 24 show.

She has a rare form of muscular dystrophy called Friedreich’s Ataxia, and her fiancé helped her into their vehicle close to the end of the concert. The two drove off before realizing the wheelchair wasn’t with them, and it was gone by the time they returned. Ryan filed a police report and searched the area. She also checked Frost Bank Center’s surveillance footage and lost and found, to no avail. That’s when she launched a GoFundMe to help defray the cost of a new wheelchair, which would cost $10,000. “This is my custom chair to me only,” Ryan wrote on social media. “I use it 24/7. And I’m devastated.” There was no sign of her wheelchair until Monday, when firefighters in North Bexar County went outside to do yard work and discovered a wheelchair sitting in a grassy area, the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office said in a social media post. “The wheelchair was confirmed to match the description and serial numbers from the reported missing chair,” BCFMO wrote. According to a recent update to the fundraiser, surveillance footage showed two people obscured by hoodies and face masks dropping off the wheelchair with a note that read, “found at the frost center.” Ryan was reunited with her wheelchair Tuesday, and her family is starting the process of checking the wheelchair for damage. The GoFundMe will stay open until they know whether repairs will be needed. “Tara is my daughter and it has been a very emotional week for all of us, but especially for her. We can’t thank you enough for making sure she received it back,” Jennifer Higgins Shaw wrote in response of BCFMO’s post. Ryan and her fiancé are getting married in November, and now she can head down the aisle with peace of mind. “It is our pleasure to do our part making sure that she got her chair,” Fire Marshal Chris Lopez said. “We continue to work on locating the person responsible for the theft. We hope the best for your daughter and your family.”
