Court documents offer new details about a weekend shooting that wounded a child in Lancaster County .A criminal complaint alleges the victim's teenaged brother illegally purchased the gun involved in the shooting.According to the complaint, a 3-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wounded to the face and head area at his home in the 500 block of Locust Street in Columbia on Sunday afternoon. The boy is in critical condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the police chief said.
He was asleep on the third floor and left the gun under a pillow in a second-floor bedroom, he said in a police interview.That second-floor bedroom is where the boy was shot, the complaint stated.It's not clear who pulled the trigger.Police said the gun, a .40 caliber Glock, was reported stolen in March in Reading.Whitlock is charged with offenses that include receiving stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child.
