Massillon Police arrested a 40-year-old man after he fled from detectives on Tuesday.
According to a report from the Massillon Police Department, around 3 p.m., detectives tried to serve a felony arrest warrant to 40-year-old Nelson White at his home on Elmford Avenue. When an officer tried to arrest White when he fled in an SUV, driving through neighborhood yards towards Tuscarawas Street, police said.
As officers continued to search, they found a hit-and-run crash that had just occured at Jackson Avenue and 12th Street NW. According to police, the witnesses’ description of the car matched the SUV officers were pursuing earlier.
