She was repeatedly raped by five men, drugged, and threatened. After escaping, she was rescued and taken to a hospital, leading to a police investigation that resulted in the arrest of five suspects from Gambia, Mali, and Nigeria. Authorities also identified 22 illegal migrants in the building, with eleven facing expulsion.
A 32-year-old Colombian woman on holiday in Rome was abducted and subjected to 72 hours of violent gang rape by five male migrants. The incident began when the tourist, who arrived in Rome on May 9, was approached by a man outside a restaurant near Termini Station on May 19.
He persuaded her to follow him to purchase hashish. After a half-hour walk, she was forced into a van by another accomplice and driven to an abandoned building in Tor Cervara, an eastern suburb of the capital. The building was occupied by at least 22 illegal migrants. Over three days, five men repeatedly raped her, drugged her, and threatened to kill her.
She was also robbed of her phone and wallet. She eventually escaped and was found half-naked on a pavement by an Italian driver, who took her to Casilino Hospital. Doctors recognized signs of sexual violence and drug use, prompting a police investigation. Italy's Flying Squad identified and arrested five suspects: Saidykhan Lamin and Karamba Kanteh from Gambia, Harouna Traore from Mali, and Isibor Wisdom and Paul Nwabueze from Nigeria.
They were charged with gang rape, with aggravating factors due to the victim's defenselessness. Police are also investigating three others, including the initial lurer and the building's occupants. During a raid on the building, 22 illegal migrants were found; eleven received expulsion orders and were detained. Five of those were later identified by the victim as her attackers
