A 37-year-old man in Rochester, N.Y., has been charged with production and receipt of child pornography and enticement of a minor. The charges stem from a complaint filed by a woman who discovered disturbing messages between her 7-year-old daughter and the suspect. The investigation revealed sexual content exchanged between the child and the accused, who is currently in federal custody awaiting a detention hearing.

The Rochester Police Department received a complaint Jan. 18, 2026 from a woman who found 'disturbing' messages between her 7-year-old daughter and Kenneth Tootle of Rochester, prosecutors said. A review of the victim's phone revealed sexual photos and videos she sent to Tootle.
A search warrant was executed on Tootle's phone, but all of the images and videos had been deleted, according to prosecutors.Tootle was arrested, appeared in federal court and remains in custody as he awaits a detention hearing set for Monday, April 20, prosecutors said. If convicted, Tootle faces between 15 years to life in prison.
