Madison Fields was missing for nearly a month before she was found safe in Florida.
PALATKA, Fla. - A 16-year-old who was originally reported missing from Colerain Township in February has been safely located, the Cincinnati chapter of the FBIAuthorities were able to locate Fields after they identified a person of interest in Tennessee related to her disappearance.
They then tracked the suspect to a hotel in Florida. Law enforcement says they were alerted to watch for him and his vehicle, which was found by the FBI and local police in a parking lot in Palatka.“To know that she was found alive is just, considering the circumstances, I mean, this whole situation is extremely scary, and to know that she’s okay, and she will be making her way back home is just a huge relief,” family friend Alicia Brabant expressed Friday. “I genuinely don’t think this would’ve been possible without the community, the news, and everybody just sharing and spreading the world, spreading her face and sharing her photo around. Obviously, she had a village and an army around her, and she probably didn’t know it.”As Colerain police searched for Fields, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office designated her an endangered missing juvenile. Fields’s father, Tyler Hirn, organized a fourth search party for her on Friday. Fields went missing a week prior. “We are not mad at you at all,” Hirn said, attempting to reach out to his daughter. “We just want you back home, safe and sound. We miss you, and we need you.”“She was on an app called Sessions, and then was supposed to meet some guy Josh, who was 18, and that’s when she walked off camera,” Hirn said. “We haven’t seen her since.” Hirn gathered people to take flyers and post them wherever they could in hopes someone would recognize her. “I’m barely standing, man,” he said. “I’m not getting no sleep; my wife’s not getting no sleep.
