DOTHAN, Ala. - Accused of killing his wife, Dwight Mills , through his attorney, filed a motion on Thursday asking a Houston County judge to dismiss his charges. Terry Bullard claimed investigators were unable to determine Sharon Mills’ cause of death, providing a letter written by a former prosecutor to back up his claims. “The autopsy shows there is no evidence of trauma ,” stated a letter purportedly written by Houston County District Attorney Doug Valeska on July 15, 2004. In the letter, he called Dwight Mills’ account unbelievable. Bullard claimed evidence showed that Sharon Mills died when she fell into a hole after stepping from the car to urinate. He claims the Mills had gone to Florida on Christmas Eve 2024 and were returning home when she died. According to reports, Dwight Mills didn’t report that his wife had been missing for several days.However, police claimed they charged Mills based on new evidence obtained in the case, though he was the prime suspect all along.
