A heartwarming story of two dogs, Coal and Bella, looking for their forever homes at the Franklin County Dog Shelter, along with a reminder about the importance of dog licensing.

Assistant Director Dwayne Young introduced two adorable dogs, Coal and Bella , at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. Coal , a friendly stray, has been at the shelter for about a week and will be available for adoption on December 27th after undergoing neuter surgery. Bella , a friendly dog whose owner could no longer care for her, will be available for adoption on Saturday morning. Young also emphasized the importance of dog licensing, which runs from December 1st to January 31st.

He highlighted that licensing helps reunite lost dogs with their owners quickly and without extra fees. The shelter recently hosted a successful holiday sleepover, with over 100 dogs temporarily placed in homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Around 30 to 40% of those dogs found permanent homes through the event. Young encouraged the community to visit the shelter at 4340 Tamarack Boulevard or their website to learn more about adopting Coal, Bella, or any of the other dogs. He also mentioned the shelter's ongoing need for dog food, blankets, and treats, particularly for individuals experiencing hard times
