A man is now facing charges nearly six months after a Montgomery woman was shot in the head during a fight, according to court documents.
Derdarius Devonte Belser was arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree domestic violence and firing a gun into an occupied vehicle.The shooting happened Oct. 13 just before 5:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Oakleigh Road at Christy Lane .

At the scene, police found a woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back of her head, per court records.Ashaki Belser told police she had informed the victim that her son — who is unidentified — had taken money from her, and that she planned to “whoop” him. The victim then arrived with five other women, and later admitted to police that the group was in fact there to fight with Ashaki Belser. While the two women fought, witnesses say Derdarius Belser went inside the house at the scene, came back with a gun, and opened fire on the victim’s car as is was trying to leave. The victim told police she heard someone shout “get the gun” during the fight and got into her car to leave.
