A new Fortnite custom game lets players experience Order 66 from the perspective of young Padawans trying to escape Darth Vader.
Of all the major events in Star Wars lore, few are as iconic and devastating as Order 66 . In Star Wars : Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, Emperor Palpatine executes his master plan, commanding the Clone Troopers to turn against their Jedi generals and eliminate them.
Over the years, we've witnessed this tragic purge through the eyes of characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Ahsoka Tano, and even Grogu. Perhaps the most harrowing moment is when Darth Vader himself leads the assault on the Jedi Temple, cutting down younglings and Padawans. Now, a new custom game in Fortnite called Star Wars: Survive Order 66 offers a unique twist: you can play as those very Padawans, desperately trying to escape Vader and the clone troopers.
It's an unusual concept for a game, but it looks thrilling and has quickly gained popularity among Star Wars and Fortnite fans alike. Created by Coconut Farm Games using Fortnite's Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), Survive Order 66 is an asymmetrical multiplayer experience similar to Dead by Daylight. One player controls Darth Vader, while up to four others control young Jedi students.
The Padawans must use stealth, vents, hidden passages, and a bit of luck to navigate the Jedi Temple, collect powerful Force abilities and gadgets, and either eliminate Vader through teamwork or escape via an extraction ship. The game isn't entirely lore-accurate-Padawans can actually defeat Vader if they cooperate-but it captures the tension and horror of the original scene.
The description from the creators reads: 'Darth Vader and an army of clones descend on the Jedi Temple, do you have what it takes to Survive Order 66? Play as a Padawan. Sneak around the temple using vents, hidden passages and a bit of luck. Learn New Force Abilities, and loot Powerful Weapons and Gadgets.
Eliminate Darth Vader or Escape on the Extraction Ship.
' To access the game, launch Fortnite, click the play button, navigate to the search bar, and enter the island code: 7792-2067-3778. It's free to play right now. The experience has drawn attention not only for its immersive gameplay but also for its use of official Star Wars assets provided by Disney and Epic Games.
Fortnite's UEFN has enabled creators to build diverse experiences, from open-world RPGs to Star Wars battle simulators, and Survive Order 66 stands out as a creative reinterpretation of one of the saga's darkest moments. Whether you choose to play as a fleeing Padawan or take control of Darth Vader to re-enact the massacre, this custom game offers a fresh and intense multiplayer challenge that will test your survival instincts.
