CT Garvin Feed and Seed was founded in 1934 by CT Garvin, Sr., and has had several downtown Huntsville locations, according to its website. CT Garvin had been in its current location at 2215 Holmes Avenue since the 1990s.
It’s Elkmont location on the corner of Thach and Mooresville roads remains open. The store website is also still taking online orders. The Garvin family owned the store until 2008 when Thornton Garvin Jr. sold the business to Monica Clark. Her husband, sod farmer Dennis Clark, had been a long-time customer of C.T. Garvin. The business sells lawn and garden supplies, dog and cat food and supplies, animal health supplies, livestock feed and supplies, fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, as well as fruits, vegetables and gourd seeds.
