Dutton Ranch episode 3 highlights the sad truth that the Yellowstone is gone forever, and Carter's desire to go back to the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. The episode also explores Carter's life on the Dutton Ranch in Rio Paloma, Texas, and his relationships with Beth and Rip.
Dutton Ranch Reminds Us Of The Saddest Yellowstone Reality In Dutton Ranch episode 3, Carter brings Oreana home. Oreana can't help but notice Carter 's framed photo of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch 's barn in his bedroom.
Oreana immediately understood that the picture is meaningful to Carter, and she asked him about it: Oreana: You wanna go back? Carter: I do. But I can't. Therein lies a sad truth that Dutton Ranch underscores: the Yellowstone is gone forever.
In Yellowstone's series finale, Kayce Dutton sold the Yellowstone's land back to the Broken Rock Reservation. Under Chairman Thomas Rainwater, the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch was literally torn down. The 140+ year legacy of the Dutton family is no more. Carter was a teenage orphan and high school dropout when Beth met him in Yellowstone season 4.
With no family and no other options, Carter became a ranch hand at the Yellowstone, learning how to be a cowboy under Rip's harsh direction. However, John Dutton was kind to Carter and became the male role model he lacked. Yellowstone season 5 only fleetingly touched on how John Dutton's death affected Carter, and Dutton Ranch is now starting to address it. It's becoming clear that Carter feels bound to Beth and Rip.
He may be grateful for their care, but he also feels that he has no say in his life. If Carter had his way, he would go back to the Yellowstone, but that just isn't possible. Through Carter, Dutton Ranch also understands that viewers also feel wistful and nostalgic towards Yellowstone, after five seasons and two prequels of audiences living vicariously through the Duttons' fighting and dying for their land.
Kayce Did The Right Thing About East Camp In Marshals Marshals season 1's finale saw Kayce Dutton make a decision about East Camp, the last remnant of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. East Camp was land given to Kayce by his father, and Kayce's piece of the Yellowstone was exempt from the sale to the Broken Rock Reservation.
The Dutton Ranch in Rio Paloma, Texas, appears similar to Yellowstone, but South Texas, with its flatter terrain and snakes, doesn't quite match the scenic majesty of Montana. For Carter, life on the Dutton Ranch isn't easy. At 19, Carter is being forced to attend high school with younger kids in order to get an education. Carter's solace is meeting Oreana Lynn Jackson, the fiery and rebellious granddaughter of Beulah Jackson, owner of the rival 10-Petals Ranch. Dutton Ranch Reminds Us Of The Saddest Yellowstone Realit
