A man is accused of shooting and killing his relative at a home in far West Bexar County in an incident captured on video. Brian Ray Leigh , 62, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder. A judge set his bail at $250,000, according to Bexar County court records.
The shooting was reported at 6:41 p.m. on Monday at a home in the 14900 block of Picardy Wheel, according to a Bexar County Sheriff’s Office police report. Leigh told deputies that he shot and killed a 49-year-old man during an “altercation,” the report said. Leigh said he shot the man in self-defense, deputies said, adding that Leigh had a 9mm firearm. “Witnesses, including the victim’s spouse and children, were present at the scene,” the report said. Security camera footage captured the events leading up to the shooting. The footage shows the victim approaching Leigh in an irritated manner before being shot, deputies said. Deputies said the footage shows Leigh shooting the man after the man approached him in an “irritated manner.” Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
