In addition to this year’s renovations, a brand new $3,484,000 clubhouse behind center field is in the works for next year.

Right now, netting to protect fans only extends to the first and third base lines, but in a matter of days they will be extended to poles in the outfield. That’s not the only upgrade coming this year, crews are also working on a revamped batting tunnel.

Both the tunnel and netting are expected to be complete by April 11. “Just a new modern space for the players to have upgraded equipment, technology, new turf, everything included, new storefront entrance, just a new whole upgrade for that batting tunnel,” explained Montgomery’s Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Dean. There are smaller details you may notice this season as well, including upgrades to the suites and roofing.“The roof of one of the things that was over on the main side where we have the concessions, we have done a new roof that should be near completion,” Johnson explained. “The suite owners may see some changes in the HVAC unit.” In addition to this year’s renovations, a brand new $3,484,000 clubhouse behind center field is in the works for next year. Work is set to begin on April 15, and is expected to be finished sometime in December. “The design itself, they’ll have new locker rooms, new spaces like that, they’ll have a new weight room, we have a new batting cage that’s connected,” Johnson said.
