, the recall affects specific lots of Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning sold exclusively at Walmart stores and through Blackstone’s website. The company says the recall was issued after learning a dry milk powder ingredient used in the seasoning had previously been recalled because of possible salmonella contamination. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
In rare cases, the infection can spread into the bloodstream and lead to more severe complications. Consumers are advised not to use the recalled seasoning and to throw it away immediately.
