A reliable leaker has revealed a physical release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong alongside a re-release of the original Hollow Knight. The leak comes from Billbil-kun, a well known source with a flawless track record for PlayStation Plus and retail announcements. The physical release is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, the Switch 2 cartridge will be fully compatible with the original Nintendo Switch, a significant benefit for existing owners.
Each physical copy will include the complete game on disc or cartridge, distinguishing it from some modern releases that only provide a download code. Collectors can also look forward to a 32-page manual and a map of the new kingdom, Pharloom. Pricing is set at $39.99 for the PlayStation and Xbox versions, while the Nintendo Switch 2 edition will cost $44.99. Fangamer, which previously handled the original Hollow Knight's physical release, will manage distribution for this new edition.
In addition to Silksong's launch, the original Hollow Knight is also scheduled for a physical re-release on the same day, October 16, 2026. This re-issue will be available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Switch 2 version again offering backward compatibility to the original Switch hardware. The re-release will include a game cartridge or disc, a 28-page manual, and a map of Hallownest, the original's setting.
