The Ohio Highway State Patrol (OSHP) Canton Post is seeking assistance in locating a hit-skip vehicle involved in a crash that left two people in serious condition.
NORTH CANTON , Ohio - The Ohio Highway State Patrol Canton Post is seeking assistance in locating a hit-skip vehicle involved in a crash that left two people in serious condition.
According to OSHP, the vehicle involved is possibly a small, light-colored four-door sedan, potentially white, silver or gray. The accident happened over the weekend on May 23 at approximately 10:37 p.m., when OSHP received a call regarding a crash involving a downed tree in the roadway that had been struck by a vehicle. When troopers arrived on scene, they learned that 21-year-old Dustin Sweet, of Canton, had stopped at the downed tree.
A second vehicle, occupied by 79-year-old Gregory Cutchert, of Navarre and 69-year-old Janet Ellis, of Navarre, also stopped at the tree. While Sweet, Cutchert and Ellis were standing in the roadway next to the tree, an unknown vehicle traveling east on Hudson Drive struck the tree and continued on. Sweet had minor injuries that were treated on scene by Erie Valley Fire and EMS. OSHP said the crash remains under investigation.
