In an official statement Thursday, the district court cited multiple reports describing calls from “bad actors posing as law enforcement officers. ” Community members who received these calls were reportedly told that they had missed jury duty and needed to pay significant fines in order to avoid arrest.
In addition to scam calls, the district court is also urging the public to be aware of “arrest warrants” being produced listing case numbers, bond amounts and an officer’s name.
