4 arrested for 2 separate contraband smuggling attempts at Ventress Correctional Facility

Two people are under arrest after being found with contraband near Ventress Correctional Facility on Tuesday, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

) - Four people are under arrest after being found with contraband near Ventress Correctional Facility on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

On Tuesday, ADOC was notified of trespassing near the facility by a suspicious vehicle. Officers stopped the car, driven by a woman identified as Sabrina Nicole Johnson. K-9 officers also found a man, identified as Jasmine Kendale Williams, a former ADOC inmate, hiding at the edge of the woods beside Alabama-239 near the facility.

Both suspects were arrested and are currently being held in the Barbour County Jail, each charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, first degree possession of marijuana, promoting prison contraband , possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing about prisons. Thursday, ADOC K-9 learned that a car involved in a trespassing incident on May 11 was traveling in the area.

Atraffic stop was made with the help of the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office near intersection of Highway 239 and McCall Road. The driver of the car, identified as Eryana Me‘Cole Amison, was detained for questioning, where it was found that a second person was currently trespassing near the facility. The trespasser, identified as Terrell Demarion Clements, was found carrying a grey plastic bag with two packages wrapped in black tape.

The packages contained about 298 grams of marijuana, five cell phones, five USB charging cables, a wall outlet charging block, and a SIM card removal tool. Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Barbour County Jail on charges of first and second degree promoting prison contraband and first degree possession of marijuana.
