One man was taken to a hospital after being found in front of an apartment complex suffering from a possible overdose.
ABBEVILLE, Ala. - Three men have been arrested and are facing charges after an overdose call Thursday afternoon resulted in the uncovering of a synthetic marijuana manufacturing operation inside of an Abbeville apartment.
Law enforcement officials with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Abbeville Police Department, as well as units with Abbeville Fire and Rescue, responded to Deer Run Apartments at around 12:31 p.m. after a call was received about a possible overdose. On scene, officials located a man in front of the complex suffering in this way. Medical care was provided to this individual, and Narcan was administered to him before EMS transported him to a local hospital for further treatment.
While on scene, narcotics investigators with the Henry County Task Force obtained and later executed a search warrant at one of the apartments at the complex, and inside they were able to recover not only synthetic marijuana but also the chemicals connected to the manufacturing of the narcotic. As a result of the findings from the executed search warrant, three men were arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance:All three men were transported to the Henry County Jail, where they are currently being held without bond.
“We will not tolerate these dangerous drugs being manufactured and sold in our community,” Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship said in a statement. “We will continue to take a proactive approach to keep them off our streets and to keep our citizens safe! ” The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, and additional charges may be filed, according to HCSO.
