) - Montgomery Public Schools will host three parent engagement workshops to help parents understand their child’s special needs, learn about child development and gain skills to support their child’s individualized education program .
The workshops follow the district’s receipt of a Special Initiatives Grant from the Alabama Department of Education for parent training and counseling support. Participant stipends will be paid directly to parents and guardians of children with disabilities who take part in the training under the following conditions: Paid participants must be the legal parent/guardian of a currently enrolled student with special needsPaid participants must register for each session separately.
Each session is limited to 25 participants; wait-listed participants will be contacted if cancellations occur. The workshops will be held in the MPS Leadership Center Building B, 720 Grove Street.
