A man is in custody after police say he slammed an SUV into a donut shop and later rammed patrol vehicles early Wednesday morning. Surveillance video from the business shows the chaos unfolding around 3:30 a.m. The suspect, who was identified as Frank Blessing, is first seen walking toward the front entrance of Donuts Plus on Erringer Road, picking up an object from a nearby table and violently slamming it onto the ground before walking away.
Video then shows the man getting into a Chevrolet Tahoe parked outside and crashing into the front entrance of the donut shop. He backs up and repeatedly rams the building, apparently attempting to force the vehicle inside.
"I didn't want to come out because I was scared," he said. Police said Blessing refused to stop, leading officers on a short pursuit. Investigators said Blessing rammed a patrol vehicle before crashing into a wall at a nearby home. A person who asked not to be identified told Eyewitness News that Blessing is a professional MMA fighter, though authorities have not confirmed that information.
