Last year's season was suspended after an investigation found there was a student-on-student assault in the team's locker room.
The upcoming 2026 varsity and junior varsity football season for Cheltenham High School has been canceled, the school district announced Tuesday. The district is currently waiting for the findings from both Cheltenham police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Superintendent Dr. Brian Scriven says the district will explore opportunities for coaches and advisors to make sure the pep band, drumline, color guard and cheerleading are still able to compete and represent the high school across other athletic programs.
