Tuesday, January 27, 2026 11:03PMConshohocken extended its snow emergency to Wednesday afternoon, as crews continue to dig out borough streets. Crews in the community spent Tuesday clearing large piles of snow from Fayette Street, shutting down the busy business corridor.
Frank Perry, the borough's director of public works, said reopening Fayette Street was a priority because of its commercial importance. "We just wanted to get Fayette Street cleared because we have a lot of businesses. This is our busiest road," he said."Just be patient, please be patient. We're working as hard as we can to get this done," he said. Some businesses along the corridor reopened despite the conditions. Tough Nickel Barbershop welcomed customers for the first time since the storm, with clients parking at the bottom of the hill and walking in. "Our front has been shoveled and salted, and we've been super lucky. It has been amazing, cold, but we'll take it," said owner Karen Little. In nearby neighborhoods, residents spent hours shoveling out their vehicles and clearing parking spaces. "I'm just trying to clear some space here, get all this stuff out so people can get in and out easier," said Brian Hanlon of Yoga Home as he dug out a parking spot. Not everyone was focused on the hard work. For some, the snow day brought a chance to enjoy winter fun. "Sledding!" said 6-year-old Leo Glowacz at Sutcliffe Park, where children out of school found the true spirit of a snow day. Cleanup efforts are expected to continue as the borough works to reopen roads and remove remaining snow.
