The Rose Fire Department responded to Wolcott Road in Rose just before 10 p.m. for a reported house fire.
Firefighters had to exit the building and fight the fire defensively. Two adults and two children were displaced by the fire, and the home had to be torn down, according to Rose Fire Department Assistant Chief Bruce Shipley.
Four people were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation, where their conditions are unknown.
