Embracing the theme of “Faithful is he,” from 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Lucas was installed during a Pastoral Installation Service at the church March 2. Lucas and his wife, Hope, come to the Pleasant Shade Missionary Baptist Church family from Beth-El Faith Church in Enterprise. “I am so honored and grateful to God to have the privilege to serve as your pastor,” Lucas told the congregation. “Know that I will serve with integrity of heart and according to the Father’s heart. The Pleasant Shade MBC Pastor Search Committee included Rev. Frank Page Jr., chairperson; Dolores Simmons, co-chairperson; Essie DuBose, secretary; Annie L. Hooks; Trustees Rodney Ford and James Hodge; Deacon Jessie Winsdor; and Eddie Hill.
