Webster, N.Y. — A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with attempted rape after allegedly trying to drag a female into a room to assault her, according to Webster police. Officers responded to the Country Manor Way apartment complex just before 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon following reports of an assault in progress.
According to Capt. Mark Reed of the Webster Police Department, the suspect tried to force the victim into a room, but nearby residents heard her cries for help and intervened, stopping the assault. When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot but was quickly apprehended and identified as a 16-year-old boy who lived in the same building as the victim.
