A woman was found murdered at a home in Alliance Wednesday morning, and police said they have a person of interest and there is no threat to the community.
STARK COUNTY, Ohio - A mother was found dead in her home Wednesday morning after her children discovered her body and called 911, according to police.
Officers responded to a house in the 300 block of W. Ely St. around 7 a.m., Alliance Police Chief Aken-Ra X said. The woman, who was in her late thirties, has not been identified by police.
“According to the officers that were there, what they described it was pretty obvious,” he said. The chief would not say how the mother was killed. Police tape blocked the yard as officers went in and out of the house. People who said they knew the family hugged each other outside.
Police say they know who they are looking for but have not released any information to the public.
“We know who we are looking for and we are actively hunting him now and want to bring him into custody,” the chief said. “They had a nice little swimming pool above ground for the kids. So they were a nice family and they had their little dog. They were like anyone else, they would have their arguments, they would get into a little bit of a shouting match now and then,” Cassaday said.
