Jason Gardner, a representative from the Utah Tax Commission, expressed enthusiasm about the plate’s release after months of planning and design adjustments. He emphasized the significance of the timing, noting that the state wanted to honor the nation’s 250-year milestone and provide a tangible way for residents to show their pride. The plate will be available for purchase through the Utah DMV, with standard registration fees applying, and sales will conclude on July 31, 2027.
Gardner believes the design will be popular, as it offers a modern and patriotic alternative to the existing options. To gauge public interest, FOX 13 News conducted an informal survey, gathering reactions from local residents. Ramon Montelongo praised the design, stating he would consider switching to the new plate. Salvador, who currently uses the all-black license plate, also expressed approval and might make the change.
Lynette Colton appreciated the new design but remained loyal to her Delicate Arch plate. Ernie, another resident, enthusiastically supported the new option, calling it a great way to celebrate the nation’s history. Gardner reminded potential buyers that the plate is only available for a limited time, from June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2027, encouraging those interested to act quickly.
The introduction of this plate reflects Utah’s commitment to commemorating national milestones while offering residents a choice in how they represent their state and country. The response from the public suggests that the new design could become a sought-after item, blending patriotism with personal expression.
