SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -New York man pleaded guilty Thursday to raping and abusing his 11-month-old daughter when they lived at an Ohio Inn.
In a statement, Summit County prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich stated that Jason Santos faced eight charges after his daughter was found unresponsive at the Red Roof Inn in Springfield Township.
One count of child endangerment by torture or cruel abuse
In November 2024, when Springfield Township police responded to a call about an infant who stopped breathing, they discovered bruises and visible signs of abuse throughout the child’s body. The infant survived after being transported to Akron Children’s Hospital but suffered a brain injury. “I am grateful she is now safe and beginning to recover from the despicable abuse she endured,” wrote Kolkovich.
