At the start of the series, a flash-forward shows Elena's house burning down. Four months earlier, Mia moves to Shaker Heights, Ohio with her daughter, Pearl .
Mia and Pearl need a place to live, so Elena offers Mia a job taking care of her house, and rents out a place for them to live. Soon, Elena and Mia's lives become intertwined, as do those of their children. As Pearl becomes closer to Elena's four children, Mia continues to be a mystery, and Elena becomes suspicious of her past — particularly when Mia and Elena fall on opposite sides of a legal battle involving friends of theirs.
'Casual' Casual is a family dramedy series that follows adult siblings Alex Cole and Valerie Meyers , as well as Valerie's teenage daughter, Laura . When Valerie's husband leaves her for a much younger woman, she and Laura move in with Alex, kicking up Valerie and Alex's codependent tendencies with one another in full-force.
The three of them struggle to adjust to living together, while, at the same time, quickly realizing that they're all very set in their ways to really click with anyone other than each other. Casual is a laugh-out-loud funny series that really highlights the weirdness of Alex, Valerie, and Laura, as well as their dynamics with one another. 'High Fidelity' Based on the 1995 Nick Hornby novel and 2000 film adaptation of the same name, High Fidelity is a romantic comedy series that follows Rob Brooks , a passionate music enthusiast and the owner of a record store in Brooklyn. One year after the worst heartbreak of her life, Rob runs into the very ex that broke her heart: Russell"Mac" McCormack , when he moves back to New York from London.
Seeing Mac again brings up all of Rob's past heartbreaks, so she examines them all again to try to figure out why things keep going wrong in her love life. Soon, Rob decides to reach out to each of the people who broke her heart and reconnect with them, determined to ask questions about their breakups and get their versions of the events, when her own perspective limits her from knowing what truly happened.
Along the way, she struggles with her resurfacing feelings for Mac, while trying to push herself to move on and start dating other people again.
'Reboot' Reboot is a comedy series that follows the cast of hit early 2000s family sitcom, Step Right Up. About two decades later, they all come together to make a more adult, dramatized reboot of the show, penned by indie filmmaker Hannah Korman . Unfortunately for Hannah, the show's original creator, Gordon Gelman , soon gets brought in to be the co-showrunner with her.
Not only does this compromise Hannah's vision, but Gordon is actually her estranged father who abandoned her when she was young. With clever meta humor and an excellent ensemble cast, Reboot is a very fun and silly sitcom.
In addition to the drama in the writers' room, the cast of Step Right Up all struggle with working together after all this time. Reed Sterling and Bree Jensen , who play the main couple in Step Right Up, still have unresolved romantic feelings for each other.
